LOS ANGELES — Bridge of Health, a non-profit organization helping children conquer cancer in Armenia, will present its  Guyn Gala on Sunday, September 23, at the Great Caesar Banquet Hall in Tujunga.

Guyn Gala marks their fourth annual charity gala hosted in honor of the children who defeated cancer, in remembrance of the children who lost their battle, and in recognition of the members and supporters of Bridge of Health. The fundraising event, hosted by Tatevik Ekezian, will highlight the children Bridge of Health has provided aid to thus far and announce the future projects yet to come.

The nonprofit organization’s goal is to bring color to the stories of children fighting every day for a healthy future. “Children are extremely resilient, but we must facilitate their resilience with hopefulness, brightness, and vibrance. They have colorful lives, stories, and futures. It’s time we embrace that and show the world that the battle with cancer isn’t always a story of dark tragedy, but a story of strength and bravery,” explained President of Bridge of Health and Director of Medical, Surgical and Telemetry Units at Pacifica Hospital, Robert Agaverdian.

Guyn Gala will feature an art exhibition, dinner ceremony, live entertainment, silent auction and dance. Guitarist, Vahagni, is donating his time to put on a live performance. Silent auction items include a “Zvartnots” pendant, which was handmade in Armenia and donated by Hye Legacy, as well as three-day pass tickets to ARPA Film Festival, and a DVD copy of Bared Maronian’s “Orphans of the Genocide” and “Women of 1915.”

Bridge of Health kindly encourages all guests to embody the colorful spirit of the event by leaving the black attire at home and dressing in colored gowns and suits.

“Bridge of Health is grateful beyond words for our community members, local businesses, and friends and families for contributing so generously to the success of our mission in the last 6 years. With their help, we have funded over 150 pediatric cancer patients’ chemotherapy, radiological imaging, blood transfusions and rehabilitation treatments,” said Arsine Torosyan of Bridge of Health.

Bridge of Health’s “Glow Gala” held on November 19th, 2018 marked their 3rd charity gala. Members wanted to embrace the light that BOH children exude every day while battling their toughest fights and the light that donors, contributors, sponsors, supporters, and member shine by doing their part in saving lives.

Guests arrived at The Great Caesar Banquet Hall at 6 o'clock for cocktail hour and red carpet appearances. The program included speeches from members, David Zargaryan, Anahit Barseghyan, and Robert Agaverdian, an Award Ceremony, where Karas and Paradiplomacy were rewarded for their generous contributions, and a video presentation, which showed guests how far BOH has come since 2012 and how they plan to go.

Live performances from Mkritch Malkhasyan (Duduk), Jirary Baramyan (Guitar), Matador Dance Studio, and singer Armen Aloyan kept guests on their feet.

The Glow Gala’s silent auction was a huge hit with hot ticket items including two signed Henrik Mkhitaryan jerseys and an original Ibanez guitar signed by all four members of System of a Down.

Items for the auction and for a majority of the event were provided as a donation or given with a generous discount.
