Our Partners​

Gevorg Tamamyan, MD, MSc, Ph.D. is a pediatric oncologist, a hematologist at Muratsan Hospital Complex and associate professor of oncology at Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU). He received his MD degree from the YSMU, MSc in Advanced Oncology from the University of Ulm (Germany), where he is currently a lecturer in pediatric oncology. His postdoc in leukemia was completed at the MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, TX, USA).

 

Dr. Tamamyan participated in visiting fellowships in pediatric hematology and oncology at the Children’s Hospital of China Medical University (Taichung, Taiwan) and St. Anna Children’s Hospital (Vienna, Austria). He also was a research fellow at the European Organization of Research and Treatment of Cancer (Brussels, Belgium), an international trainee at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Memphis, TN, USA), and a visiting scientist at Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center (DF/BC; Boston, MA, USA). As of September 2017, Dr. Tamamyan is the adviser to the Rector of YSMU for science, innovation, and development.

Dr. Tamamyan is a proud recipient of IDEA and Life awards from the American Society of Clinical Oncology in 2013 and 2014 respectively. He was named a GLOBE scholar in 2016 from DF/BC and a 50 for 50 Young Leader from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). He was also named Young Leader of the Union for International Cancer Control nominated by the IARC in 2016.

 

Dr. Tamamyan is currently a co-chairman of the SIOP PODC Supportive Care Working Group, board member of the Pediatric Oncology East and Mediterranean Group, Ambassador of the Society of Hematologic Oncology, chairman of the Armenian Group of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, co-founder and coordinator of the City of Smile Charitable Foundation and the Armenian Association of Hematology and Oncology.
